The Artist's go

i have officially been named the artist in the group! this isnt particularly surprising as i can be found scribbling during most of our free time and occsasionally during meetings...

one of the days on project when working with the kids i began drawing some of the children which turned out to be a bad idea as they surrounded me and began handing me paper for me to draw each of them. i must of drawn atleast 20 of the kids that day and andy tells me he has seen some of these drawings up in the childrens houses. i am glad my talents have been of some use :)

the past week and a half has been such an amazing time, i will try to describe some of what its been like but i am sure it will never come close, even looking back at photos doesnt show half of what ti has been like for us.

working on project in kwaladeka has been an eye opener and seeing god working through us to impact upon the community has been amazing. we have poured out so much of ourselves into this and i feel like i hav recieved so much in return. part of this does include aching muscles, sore shoulders, a cold/sore throat and mouth ulsers due to lack of sleep but that does not even cast a shadow on the experience.

the faces of the childer we spent time with and the families houses we cleaned are engrained into my mind and my heart. leaving the project at kk flats for the last time yeasterday was so emotional but i know that we have planted seeds in that community that can do nothing but grow. i have even got the address of a girl called komcebo who has become very attached to me over the time we have been here. i hope to send her letters when we get back home and pray that one day we might meet again were she will be in a much better place than she is in now.

today we had to say goodbye to some people who have become really great friends to us, three of the soul action guys are flying home tomorow, becky, craig and andrew im sure we will keep in contact and are going out for dinner with buck and the rest of the team tomorow night so that will be a great night spent with amazing people who have been inspiring and encouraging in so many ways.

im sorry that this has been a rather long post, you can probably tell this is my first contact with home hi to mum, dad, jonny and sam (there you go thats my contact for the week), but sorry i dont want to leave! if i dont get a chance to post agin before tuesday then i willsee you all wen we get back. thankyou for all your prayers and love for what we are doing.
