tuesday is leah's turn

Yesterday brought more new and exciting things for us to do. Although we were doing the same tasks on project yesterday was not the same as the days that proceeded it. We have finally gotten into the swing of things at KwaDabeka and are well on the way to completing the tasks that we have been given. ALthough it is a lot of hard work; it is incredibly fulfilling to get your hands stuck into the dirt (literally) and make a difference in a community. Yesterday brought many other surprises; a woman who serves on the committee for the hostel summonned Buck (the leader of our project) to her house. After explaining how much of an impact what we were doing was having on the community she invited KwaCare to be a part of the committee, in the hope that they can change the hostel back to the way that it used to be. Not only that but in order to bless us as she felt that we had blessed her this lovely woman invited all of us (about 20 people) into her little home for a cup of tea. The day also saw one of the community wanting to start an Alpha course at His Church; it has been amazing to see God moving within the community of KwaDabeka.

It has been a real priveledge for me to see Sian, Ruth, April and Chloe getting stuck in with the members of the community to complete the work that they have come here to do.

Sian shared her testimony with the children yesterday and this saw all of them sit still and quietly (which i have not seen them do since we have been here) as they wanted to here what she had to say. She has been getting on really well with the children and always seems to have small children helping her wherever she goes.

April has been artist extrodinaire; the kids all love to see her draw and have been asking her repeatedly to draw a picture of them; this has given her a real connection with them and it is great to see the way that they all respond to her.

Yesterday saw the one woman wire tightening machine that was Ruth. She did so much hard work yesterday (not that the others didn't!) tightening the washing lines that we were putting up and quite honestly she showed most of the boys a thing or to about what us girls can do!

Chloe has also been fantastic with the kids; she is so entusiastic with them and is willing to be around them no matter who they are or what they have done and this appears to be impacting them tremendously.

All of the girls have worked incredibly hard and this has been a blessing to see. As for Andy, Steve and I; we have been working hard doing what needs to be done and although it has been tiring we have been loving every minute of it.
