The nost special moments this week on project have been with the kids from the KK hostels, in particular one 10 year old boy whose name means Blessing in English, (sounds like Mseeso) who stayed with me all day Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well as the morning on Friday before he left to visit his grandmother. Saying goodbye to all of them was sooo hard yesterday, I'd been finding it hard enough to say "bonna sasa" (see you tomorrow)! A lot of us formed special bonds with particualr children, they would come up to us as soon as we left the combies. I also enjoyed the afternoon cleaning one of the houses in the hostel, because when we started the walls were black, so when we finished we could really see the difference. I also enjoyed helping put up washing lines by smashing rocks with the sledge hammer and scooping soil out of the holes as the others dug. One thing that has really affected me is the amount of litter, especially glass on the floor and in the soil, so much so that I found it really difficult not to pick up every bit of glass I saw, but only the ones that I had to pick up! I did evangelism once, that was the thing I found hardest, because I didn't know what to say in English, so Petros just had long conversations in Zulu!
I also really enjoyed church on Sunday, the first service was an experience unlike one I've ever had before, with an extremely long talk! During the Zulu service, I went out to help with the kids stuff, which was really rewarding, especially being able to sut with them and feed them at the end.
